Broadcaster and author Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and ITV’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, Asif Zubairy will be speaking at our shortlist announcement this year.
The full shortlist for this year’s Asian Media Awards will be unveiled at ITV The London Studios on Monday 29 September.
An Oxford graduate, Yasmin has written for publications including The Guardian, Observer, The New York Times, Time Magazine and Newsweek.
Yasmin is a regular columnist for The Independent and London’s Evening Standard.
Yasmin’s many accolades include the George Orwell Prize for Political Journalism and the Emma award for Journalism.
In 2001 she was appointed an MBE for services to journalism.
Yasmin will be joined on stage by Asif Zubairy, ITV’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment.
In his 30 year creative career, Asif has been Head of Entertainment at the Nine Network Australia, Director of Original Programming Walt Disney Branded Television and Director of Programmes for the Paramount Comedy Channel.
Asif was also the Executive Producer on BBC 2’s Strictly Come Dancing-It Takes Two.
