Sabras win Regional Radio Station of the Year 2017 award

Leicester based Sabras Radio picked up their second AMA at the 2017 ceremony.

The Asian Media Awards, sponsored by the University of Salford honours journalists, broadcasters, presenters, bloggers and marketing professionals and took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate (Wednesday 25 October).

Sabras Radio is a broadcast radio station in Leicester providing south Asian music and culture. The station first broadcast in 1976.

The majority of the schedule is presented in Hindi and English. There are also speciality shows broadcasting in Bengali, Gujerati and Punjabi. Sabras Radio is available on 1260AM in the whole of the East Midlands and other regions including Birmingham, Coventry and Milton Keynes.

Web streaming across the internet has now made Sabras a global entity reaching over 75 countries.
