Local and regional journalists are to be recognised at the 2015 AMA’s.
The new Regional Journalist of the Year category aims to reward the work of an individual working in TV, radio, print and online at a regional or local level. He or she is someone who has produced consistent and varied work at a regional level.
Now in their third year the Asian Media Awards also look to highlight the ground breaking work of reporters, editors and producers in highlighting issues affecting race relations and human rights.
Other awards in 2015 include Publication of the Year, Journalist of the Year, Best Investigation, Best Website and Outstanding Young Journalist.
This year’s Asian Media Awards returns to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Thursday October 29.
A shortlist announcement will take place at ITV, the London Studios on Monday September 28.

The deadline for all nominations for this year’s awards is 4pm Friday August 28 2015.
Previous recipients of an Asian Media Award include Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Waris Hussein, Nina Wadia and Anita Anand.
