Lyca Radio scooped its second Asian Media Award following another year of expansion.
Journalists and broadcasters joined actors and presenters at the 12th ceremony, which celebrates achievements in a range of categories in TV, radio, stage, online and creative media.
The ceremony is supported by the University of Salford and took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Friday October 25.
Lyca Radio has aimed to position itself as a leading Asian radio brand in the London area and has seen a rapid expansion in a short space of time.
CEO of the Lyca Radio Network, Raj Baddhas said: “This award is a testament to my team’s incredible work over the past year and beyond.
“We have also been celebrating our recent RAJAR figures, which put the Lyca Group stations (Lyca Radio and Lyca Gold) at No.1 as the leading commercial Asian radio network in London.
“This award concludes an incredible week, and we will always be indebted to our listeners, well-wishers, and our commercial partners. Thank you, everyone.”
In April, the network expanded its reach by acquiring the long-established Asian Sound Radio in Manchester. The brand followed that up by launching in the Leicester region. The station said the decision allows it to syndicate popular shows across both networks but also host regional content for those areas.
The network has also supported a number of major festivals, awards, concerts and cultural events relevant to its listenership.
