Bhavin Bhatt was named AMA Best Newcomer at the fifth Asian Media Awards.
The Asian Media Awards, sponsored by the University of Salford honours journalists, broadcasters, presenters, bloggers and marketing professionals and took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate (Wednesday 25 October).
Bhavin Bhatt first broke into acting at the age of 13 when he featured in a production of Bugsy Malone where he played Dandy Dan.
He went onto appear in commercials for NSPCC and Mothers Against Guns.
He featured in ITV crime drama Murder in Suburbia and BBC’s Spooks. Bhavin trained at De Montfort University achieving a BA (hons) degree in Drama.
He has gone onto perform at the O2 Arena alongside Bollywood stars and on BBC1 Strictly Come Dancing and BBC1’s Children In Need-The Big Dance with the EastEnders cast.
He worked under the direction of Suba Das in the production of Pereira’s Bakery at 76 Chapel Road. Recently Bhavin made his West End début at Wyndham’s Theatre in the 2017 production of The Kite Runner, playing the role of Wali and ensemble.
Bhavin was then offered the lead villain Assef when it extended to The Playhouse Theatre in May 2017.
