A timely podcast which aimed to challenge racism and prejudice in all its forms was named the Best Podcast at the Asian Media Awards.
Journalists and broadcasters joined actors and presenters at the 12th ceremony, which celebrates achievements in a range of categories in TV, radio, stage, online and creative media.
The ceremony is supported by the University of Salford and took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Friday October 25.
‘A Muslim and a Jew Go There’ is hosted by comedian David Baddiel and politician Sayeeda Warsi and explores the week’s biggest headlines.
The podcast looked to challenge tropes and stereotypes through debate. There are meaningful discussions of international affairs and the impact they are having on Jewish and Muslim communities in Britain.
The range of topics have included everything from elections, boycotts and Eurovision to policing, the Academy Awards and the charges levelled at multiculturalism.
Whilst the subject matter may be sensitive both Baddiel and Warsi are able to find common ground on a range of issues.
‘A Muslim and a Jew Go There’ launched in February of this year and is produced by Instinct Productions – Jemima Khan Goldsmith and Sarah Linton.
