ZINGs Asad Shan won the TV Presenter of the Year accolade at this year’s Asian Media Awards.
The third AMA ceremony took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate where stars from TV and radio joined some of the UK’s leading journalists, broadcasters and writers.
The award was presented by Safina Mirza, Head of Project Communications at High Speed Two.
The highly competitive category, included Natasha Asghar, Sukhi Bart and Momtaz Begum-Hossain.
Asad has presented some of the most popular shows on digital channels in recent years including, Brits Bollywood, Rock The Vibe and Grinds My Teeth – the UK’s first rude tube show.
Presently he is hosting Juke box and ‘The Film Show,’ the highest rated show on ZING. Asad was also the face of the Samuel L Jackson men’s cancer campaign in 2013, where he appeared alongside the Hollywood legend.
Asad Shan said, “I want to say a massive thank you to the judges and you guys for being here today.
“I just want to say, it’s great that local channels are actually producing local content. We need this.
“I want to say a big massive thank you to ZING who put their money where their mouth is and produce local content.
“And my mum and dad, thank you- I have a job!”
The Asian Media Awards took place on Thursday October 29 at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.
